even though the magnitudes of action force and reaction force are equal and their directions are opposite, their opposite, their effects do not get cancelled : this is because the forces of action and reaction do not act on the same body .

eg :A string tied to a wall is pulled by a force 'f' by a human, the same amount of force is applied by the string on the human in form of tension force.
