Answer:

We can know the time in the night by using apparatus such as a sand clock or a water clock . The y have readings marked on them which corresponde to the time. They drop a grain of sand or a drop of water at regular intervals making them nearly accurate.

In the daytime, we use the Sun and Shadow method to know the time without using a clock but to know the time at night you may the follow the following steps :-

In this method you will need to follow the stars....

  1. First of all, get yourself out in an open area.
  2. Now, look up at the sky and locate the star constellation 'Big Dipper' or 'The Saptarishi' or 'Ursa Major' these all are the same.
  3. Now, use the 'Big Dipper' to find the 'North Star' (which is also the last star in the tail of 'Little Dipper').
  4. To find 'North Star' imagine a straight line passing through the outer stars of the bowl shape of the 'Big Dipper', and the other end of the line connects the 'North Star'.
  5. This way the Northern sky forms a big clock, with the 'North Star' at its center.

>>Hope this will help you next time when you try watch time using the stars... :-)
