Eventhough RBC doesnot posses a nucleus ,it is considered to be living WHY?

Before maturation RBC's have their nucleas which directs the whole cell but during maturity it removes its nucleas, which is actually a modification to perform its function more efficiently. So the enucleate condition is actually a modification, RBC's are still considered living.
