Then why when we push a book it moves,
Isn't it supposed to resist with the same force backwards and remain in its same position???

when we push a book it moves because the force which we exit on the book is more than the force of friction which is exerted by our surrounding so the book moves and if the force of friction is greater than our fourth and the book will not move this is the case here
