Every day a cyclist meets a car at the station.the road is straight and both are travelling in the same direction. the cyclist travels with a speed of 12 mph.one day the cyclist comes late by 20 min. and meets the car 5miles before the station. what is the speed of the car?

If they normally meet at 8AM

Then,

Cyclist will reach at station on that day at 8:20 AM.

But train will reach station at 8AM only.

And,

He will be at at point 5 miles before station at 7.55 AM ( i.e 25 min before 8:20 AM)

So, train will take 5 mins to travel( to reach stn at 8AM) 5 miles.

So speed of train = 60 mph.
