End drunk driving, save lives
Drunk driving needs to end. Kim Beverely, an ex-drinker who wants to put the message out to everyone in the world, claims that 60 percent of teens that are killed in a car accident involves drunk drivers.
Alcohol affects your judgment and decision making, causing you to put your own life in danger or even worse, someone else’s. According to Beverely, “Alcohol affects you in a way that changes your judgment, depth perception as well as vital motor skills required to drive safely.”
Teens need to be educated about what can happen to them if they decide to drink and drive. Parents can teach their teens about the effects of drinking and driving. High schools should provide more information about drinking and driving since that’s about the age that young people start driving.
Even having 2 percent alcohol in your system can result in a DUI making you have the chance of losing your car, a suspended license for a year, and alcoholism classes for a year.
There aren’t just teens drinking and driving, but learning at a young age will teach them not to do it. Drinking and driving is a serious issue in our community because we lose many loved ones and friends every year. Some people do survive drinking and driving accidents, but it leaves them with horrible memories and regret.
Drinking and driving is not safe for you, or others. Stop drinking and driving, and pass the message along to everyone. Way too many citizens get killed in drinking and driving accidents; they need to come to an end. Make our community a place where we can feel safe and not feel like we have to worry about drunk drivers.
