A chord of a circle is a straight line segment whose end points both lie on the circle. a straight line passing through the center of a circle and meeting the circumference or surface at each end. So a chord need not necessaryly pass through the centre. So, we can say every diameter of a circle is it's chord but every code of a circle is not its diameter.
