Every floor of a 104-storey skyscraper is 4 m high. If a balloon rise 3 m every second, how long will it take to rise from the 36th floor to the 96th floor?

No. of floors from 36 to 96 is = 60
each floor is of height = 4m
balloon rising = 3m/s (speed)
Calculation:
1. total height from 36th floor to 96th floor :-
= (no. of floors)( height of each floor)
= (96 - 36)(4)
= 60(4)
= 240 m (distance)
2. total time taken to cross the 96th floor from 36th floor :-
= total height / rising speed
speed = distance / time
time = distance / speed

given:-
speed = 3m/s
distance = 240m
total time = 240 / 3
= 80 seconds

therefore total time taken by the balloon to cross 96th floor from 36th floor is
ans:- 80 secs (or) 1 min 20 secs
