see...multicellular organisms are born by reproduction ...i.e. when the sperm cell reaches the ovary , fusion occurs (here sperm is a single cell and ovary too is a single cell) ...after the male gamete reaches female gamete ...both the gametes fuse to form a single cell called zygote
