1) Real and distinct roots
2) Real and equal roots
3) imaginary roots
To find that that, we find the discriminant:
Discrimination = b² - 4ac
If b² - 4ac > 0, the roots are real and distinct

If b² - 4ac < 0, the roots are imaginary
