Every whole number is a rational number because it can be written as a fraction.

5 can be written as

 \frac{5}{1} \\

every rational number is not a whole number

these are some rational numbers

1/4, 2/4, 4/4……..

now you can consider it like this

4/4 = 1

It is a whole number.

RIGHT

If you consider

2/4 = 0.5

It is not a whole number.

HOPE NOW YOUR DOUBT IS CLEAR

thanks
