To be in rest-

• The maximum value of frictional force f2 is less than f1, Therefore, the condition for rest or together motion depends on f2.
• The applied force 'F' must be less than f2 so that the blocks do not move.Since the Max. value of f1 is greater, so it will adjust itself according to the F applied.

To be in together motion -

• For together motion the F applied must be greater than 8N and less than 10N.
• It should be greater than 8, so that they can start moving, but F should also be less than 10N so that small block do not slip over bigger block and continue being in motion together.
