They are not. Many societies are transforming from traditional to industrialized, but very few have “primitive” as their starting point.

Without writing a treatise, modernization probably began in Germany. Yet, it should be understood that 400 years ago, Germany was essentially a primitive and barbarian backwater. It is hard to even find comparable historical accounts of Germany, for example, even 500 years ago.

Thus, while the rest of Europe went through a Renaissance (which Asia and much of Byzantine Africa never needed to awake from backwardness), Germanic territories were late to the party. And yes, Byzantium is what gave Europe its civilization (Read: “The Sicilian Vespers”, “The Crusades” (Runciman) or “Rubicon”).

Answer:

I am sorry but somehow I do not go with this flow in this case………!

Explanation:

When speaking of development, and transformation, it is certain that they can have more than one meaning. If by transformation you mean that our society today is moving from primitive (more traditional) form to modern form, then it is certain that we see a lot of changes in our society.

Earlier we lived more primitively, like in small villages, had less  access to facilities, and no access at all to cities and services.

Today we have somehow managed to develop more number of cities (in fact smart cities), ultra modern facilities for schools, education, medicines, health, and much more.

Most towns, villages and cities in our country (and around the globe) are having access to all possible necessities including accommodation, health care and educational.

Today again with advancement in science and technology we certainly have managed to step our imagination on other planets that are much beyond our own reach. We are having access to each and every service around the globe via internet, such that communication has become much easier.

But even if this is the case, still socially have we managed to move or transform from primitive to modern?

We certainly do get to see a  lot of examples that are from amongst our own society, where we understand that still many people are not mentally modern. Primitive may also not be the right word to be used for them, but today as well you get to see illiteracy, bonded labors, disbelief and much more.

There can be good examples from our society where people still believe that if a cat cross your path, then it is a sign of bad omen!

So what would you say…… are we primitive or are we modern.!

I think we still need to transform further mentally from primitive to modern.

(I really regret if my ideas or point of view might have disturbed your feelings).
