Explanation:
I watched the surging crowds at Rameswaram, so many of them weeping, so many of them praying, I thought to myself, what a blessed human being! Those crowds (nearly one lakh people) were there to say their final goodbyes and pay their last respects to a man they loved... adored. A man who had touched their lives in some remarkable way, even if they had not met him. These were simple folks, not hired crowds. They had come to honour the memory of another simple man — Dr APJ Abdul Kalam — who they instinctively knew was one of them. They hadn’t come to catch a glimpse of VVIPs, or jostle for space on television. They were there as genuine mourners, expressing genuine grief for a man they considered a family member.
