probability that a heavyweight weighs over 170 pounds. = 0.4

Step-by-step explanation:

. Half weigh over 110 pounds

Mean = 110 pound

15% weigh over 150 pounds

=> 85% people below 150 pounds

z score for 85% = 1.037

z  = ( Value - Mean)/SD

=> 1.037  = (150 - 110)/SD

=> SD = 38.57

15% weigh over 150 pounds

for over 170 pounds

z  = ( 170 - 110)/38.57

=> z = 1.556

z = 1.556 => 94%

over 170 pounds = 100 - 94 = 6%

probability that a heavyweight weighs over 170 pounds. = 6 /15

= 0.4
