Dear M Anonymous,

To turn “Nothing is permanent” into an affirmative sentence with the same meaning, you could use some of the following ideas. An affirmative sentence would contain no negatives.

“Everything is ephemeral.”

“Challenges in life are like ripples in the water that pop up briefly before they fade away.”

“This, too, shall pass.” (This is a cliché, but it is nevertheless true.)

“Everything lasts for a season, and then something new takes its place.”

“In the end, even though we will all be dust, let us be the best dust-makers we can be.”

“All things have their day in the sun, and then they die.”

“Life is just a dream, or is it a fast-moving stream?”

“Everything changes. Streams ebb and flow, crashing over rocks as they change their course, altering both the water and the landscape.”

“It is all just a dream, a temporary life. We shall awake soon in a new world that is permanent and real and forever.”

Change is a gradual process, and most big changes are made by taking small steps every day over a long period of time. Personal transformation takes time, and it's not linear. Sometimes you take three steps forward then two steps back. Other times, you'll make huge leaps in just a day or two.

When our good emotions become negative it is negative transformation.
