Organisms differ in their form, structure and mode of living. Hence, based on their similarities they should be grouped. The grouping of related organisms helps us in studying their evolutionary relationships. Classification is the division of organisms on the basis of characteristics into groups and sub-groups.

2- Characteristics of features like details of appearances , behaviour, particular for or function will be analysed
3- Bas ic character features are : a- all organisms are made up of cells
b- multicellular or unicellular c- presence or absence of nucleus d- photosynthesis or not e- endoskeleton or exoskeleton
4- More closely related species will have mor common characteristic features so they have a recent common ancestors
For eg : brother and sister their common ancestor is there parent
But a girl and her cousin their common ancestor is their grand parent
