Evolution can’t even be equated with an increase in complexity let alone progress. one can easily see that the one case in which evolution produced humans there are thousands of branches in the evolutionary tree that have nothing to do anything human. All the other animals, plants and other organisms that we see around today are about as evolved as we are.
