American nurses:
The Army Nurse Corps launched operation nightingale where they recruited nurses from USA to serve in the US vs Vietnam war. The majority of these women were whites Catholic and Protestants. Because the need for medical aid was increasing, many nurses underwent a four-month training program for being deployed to Vietnam in the Army Nurse Corps.
Vietnamese women:
Unlike American women who were recruited to serve in Vietnam these Vietnamese women fought in combat zones, cooked food for the soldiers and provided manual labor to keep the Ho Chin Minh trial open.
