mechanism:

a soda acid fire extinguisher consists of concentrated sulphuric acid and baking soda.On pressing the knob,the sulphuric acid reacts with soda which forms sodium sulphate and water liberating CO2.This helps in cutting down the oxygen supply,and hence extinguishing the fire.
