3x + 2y = 29 ...(i)

5x - y = 18 ...(ii)

Multiply equation (ii) by 2 , we get

10x-2y= 36 ... (iii)

3x+2y = 29 ....(i)

Adding equation (iii) and (i), we get

13x= 65

x= 5

Substitute the value of x= 5 in equation (i), we get

3(5)+2y=29

15+2y=29

2y=29-15

2y=14

y=7
