The Earth is a very unique planet, compared to all planets that were discovered, this is because the position of the Earth is really ideal, because it isn't too near or too far from the Sun, that is important for sustaining life.

Earth is Unique with its perfect position in the solar system that enables it to support life. There are many factors to support the statement:

  1. Distance from Sun: Earth is at the right distance from the Sun, averaging about 92,955,807 miles away. It is best placed in the solar system. If Earth was closer, it would have received a lot of energy from the sun and would have been too hot for life. If it was more distant, the planet could have frozen quickly.
  2. Atmosphere: The presence of an atmosphere makes Earth livable. If Earth had no atmosphere, it would not have maintained the temperature and gases necessary for our survival and sustenance. The stratosphere which is a part of the atmosphere absorbs the harmful radiation of the sun. Oxygen which is the most important component which is needed by us is present only on Earth and hence supports life.
  3. Water: The presence of water is extremely important for the survival of most of the organisms on Earth. The fact that the Earth is comprised of three-fourths of water makes it a blue planet, enabling cool surroundings and an adequate amount of water for all major and minor tasks.
  4. Earth has a Van Allen radiation belt that protects it from cosmic rays.
  5. Earth has a unique magnetic field that protects it from harmful solar winds.

Last but not the least, the solar system and in turn the universe is huge and the scope for possibilities is immense. So, we as the inhabitants of Earth shall continue to hold the tag of living on the most unique and only planet that supports life until we find something that proves us wrong.
