Impact of city life during the colonial rule:
- The socio-economic life of Indian population is highly influenced during colonial rule. The education system prevails on the traditional line as the East India Company did not pay much attention to grant modern knowledge to the fellow Indians.
- The influx of more rural people into the city was seen more in that era which created saturation in urban life. This has also formed categorization in city life in which the upper class is predominantly occupied by Whites that is Britishers while Indian elites formed the other class.
- The Britishers held luxuries while the later ones had limited provisions. This very influx created a shortage of labor force in the agricultural lands. From that era, a clear distinction division of classes could be seen in Indian society.
