Given : Amount left with Sandeep (in Rs.) out of the total amount of Rs.12000 which he had in the  beginning, when he spends Rs. 500 in the beginning of every month

To Find :  list of numbers obtained from following situation, will be in the form of an  AP  or not

Solution:

AP ( arithmetic progression)is of form

a , a + d , a + 2d ,..........................

a = 1st term

d = common difference

Initial Amount = 12000

Amount left after 1 month = 12000 - 500  = 11500

Amount left after 2 months = 11500 - 500 = 11000

Amount left after 3 months = 11000 - 500 = 10500

Hence here is a common difference of - 500

so it forms an AP

12000 ,11500 , 11000 , 10500 ,......................

a = 12000

d = = 500

This is an AP
