According to tradition, the Parsis initially settled at Hormuz on the Persian Gulf but finding themselves still persecuted they set sail for India, arriving in the 8th century.

The follower is called Parsi because the religion arrived in India from Persia. This religion was established by Zarathustra in 6th or 7th century BC. The followers of this religion exiled from Iran in the 7th century AD. because of religious persecutions by the Muslims. They arrived in Gujarat region of India.

The Parsi religion is the ancient Indo-European religion of Zarathushta. The Avestan language is a sister of Vedic Sanskrit. In our religion, we pray to Ahura Mazda (Lord of Wisdom), the name of the One Creator God for us, who is formless and omnipresent, much like Nirguna Brahman in the Indian Vedanta
