Economic inequality in a democracy is mainly seen in the form of disparities in income.The result is that the rich are becoming richer day by day and the poor are becoming poorer.

Economic exploitation is also another form of economic inequality where some are paid more while some are paid lesser.

Unemployment also form a part of economic inequality as most of the people are deprived of jobs and are forced to embrace poverty.

Economists talk about two types of economic inequality: wealth and income inequality. Income inequality looks at how big the differences in what people get paid are in the economy. ¹ Income can means wages, but also all the earnings people make from owning shares, rent and profits from selling companies.
