Alexander and Ashoka were both ambitious both were brilliant tacticians and warriors. alexander wanted to conquer the world and had set on the mission with a massive army .all he wanted was to conquer the world, so he fought countless battles and created the largest empire of that time. however Ashoka also conquered all of India but after the war of Kalinga. he was deeply moved by the bloodshed and devastation and resolved never to go on a war. he focused his attention towards the welfare of his people and the spread of buddhism.in short alexander did not with draw from war till his death, but Ashoka did

Both were great rulers but alexander travelled the world this means that alexander will have numerical, technological and social and political advantage. tough Ashoka conquered India which alexander couldn't because he was dead if he was alive with his grate strategical brain he could have conquered Chins, Australia  and even Japan.
