Brahmo Samaj;
It was established by Raja Rammohan Roy in the year 1815. It was named as Atmiya Saba initially but converted to Brahmo Samaj in the year 1828. It is created to remove the black spots or social evils from the society. His aim is to form casteless society. His Samaj is based on the principal of universal religion that contains one supreme god. He condemned the costly rites and rituals, idol worship, sati, female infanticide. In his service, he try to bring the respectable status for women in the society. Due to his hard and firm efforts, Lord William Bentick brought an act called Sati Prohibition act in the year 1829. By this act, the practise of sati is considered to be a offence and punished with death sentence. After this precious guy's death, Keshab Chandra Sen and Devendarnath Tagore take over the charge. By passing a special act in 1872, Polygamy is abolished.
