Answer: The Indian landscape, its animal and plant life, its entire agriculture calendar and the life of people including their regular activities and festival revolve around the phenomena of monsoon. India is country where more than 50% of the people are employed because of agriculture. We know that for agriculture and plantation one of the most important element is water.

Rainwater delivered from monsoon is the main source of natural water for us. Therefore monsoon boast up the agricultural sector, resulting in bumper crops, bring down the price of serials, vegetables, and common commodities. Besides this India get 70% of its rain fall during the monsoon season which mainly affects the yield of most of the kharif crops including bajra, jowar, pulses, cotton, cereals, rice, groundnut and many more.

The GDP i.e. gross national product of India is therefore largely dependent on the monsoon.
