Sustainable development means that development should take place without damaging the environment and without compromising with the needs of the future generation.
It is important as:
Resources available in the environment are limited and we need to conserve them because the population is growing at a tremendous rate and exploitation of these resources is increasing.
Sustainable development helps in doing this and helps us to save our resources for future generation.
