Hope u like my process
=====================
Let f(x) = 3x² +x - 1

If ( x +1) is a factor of f(x),

Then,

f(x) = 0 when x = - 1

So, according to the problem,
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
 = > f(x) =3 {x}^{2} + x - 1 \\ \\ = 3 {( - 1)}^{2} + ( - 1) - 1 \\ \\ = 3 - 1 - 1 \\ \\ = 1
Which is not equal to 0.

So,

(x+1) is not a factor of 3x² +x - 1

hey!!!

p(x) = 3x² + x - 1

g(x) = x + 1
>> x + 1 = 0
>> x = -1

on putting values :-

p(-1) = 3(-1)² + (-1) - 1
= 3 - 1 - 1
= 1

the remainder is not coming 0 so ( x + 1 ) is not a factor of 3x² + x - 1

cheers!!!
