Examination System

After interviewing over hundred students on the potential of the existing Examining Exams I have come to the conclusion that our examination system does not help in evaluating the true potential of students.

It is a very outdated system of examination. It does not test the skills of a student. It rather marks the bookish knowledge accrued by a candidate.

Our Examination System is more theoretical in judgement. It does not evaluate the skills and talents in a person. As a result a high scorer is not necessarily a good student.

Practical application of knowledge is never tested.

According to me an ideal examination system should be one that evaluates both the theoretical and practical skills of a student.

Test of the application of knowledge at the current moment and in the required field is more important.

Instead of a one type examination several exams should be conducted all through the year.

External examiners should be employed to judge the merit of a student impartially.

There should be given equal stress on oral and aural tests. Then only can true knowledge be tested.
