Let the original cost of the article be ₹ x.

So, GST = 12% of ₹ x.

Cost including GST = ₹ 3784

According to condition,

x + (12% of x) = 3784

or, x + (12/100×x) = 3784

or, x + 12x/100 = 3784

or, (100x +12x)/100 = 3784

or, 112x/100 = 3784

or, 112x = 3784 × 100

or, 112x = 378400

or, x = 378400/112

or, x = 3378 × 4/7

or, x = 3378.57 (approximately)

Hence, the price of the article before GST was added is 3378.57

Answer:

ANSWER

Let original price of the article be Rs. 100.

GST = 12%

Price after GST is included = Rs. 100 + Rs. 12 = Rs. 112

When the selling price is Rs. 112 then original price = Rs. 100

When the selling price is Rs. 784, then original price =

112

100

×784=700
