to increase the velocity of a car from
30 km h-l to 60 km h-1 if the mass of
the car is 1500 kg?

by work energy theorem, W = 1/2 * m * (v 2 - u 2)

v = 60 km/ h

u = 30 km/ h

m = 1500 kg

thus work = 0.5 x 1500 x (3600 - 900)

= 750 x 2500

= 1875000 J

thus work in increasing the velocity is 1875000 J
