Let his son's age be = X years

Age of man = X + 38 years

Now,

A.T.Q.

=> X+X+38 = 82

=> 2X = 82-38

=> 2X = 44

=> X = 44/2

=> X = 22 years

Therefore,

Son's age = 22 years

father's age = 22 + 38 = 60 years
