The age of a man is 38 years more than the age of his son. If the sum of their ages is 82 years, find the age of the son and his father.

Let his son's age be = X years

Age of man = X + 38 years

Now,

A.T.Q.

=> X+X+38 = 82

=> 2X = 82-38

=> 2X = 44

=> X = 44/2

=> X = 22 years

Therefore,

Son's age = 22 years

father's age = 22 + 38 = 60 years
