EXAMPLE 14
A godown building is in the form. The vertical cross-
section parallel to the width side of the building is a rectangle 7 m x 3 m, mounted by a semi-
circle of radius 3.5 m. The inner measurements of the cuboidal portion of the building are
10 m x 7 m x 3 m. Find the volume of the godown and the total interior surface area excluding
the floor (base). (Take pie = 22/7)

Answer:

10 m x 7 m x 3 m.

Take pie = 22/7

Step-by-step explanation:

Answer ⤵️

once \: refer \: the \: attachment \\  \\  \\  \\ refer \: the \: digram \: ....

Now,

Volume of the godown -

= Volume of cuboid + volume of semi-cylindrical part

= lbh+(πr^2)L => Volume of half cylinder

= 101×1×3+22/7×7^2/2^2×10/2

= 210+192.5=> 402.5 m^3

Interior surface area = surface area of side-walls + surface area of cylindrical roof

= 2(3×10+3×7)+2πr×L/2

= 102+2/2×22/7×7/2×10

=> 212 m^2 ✔️✔️✔️
