profit = 10 %

sp =( 100 + gain %)*cp / 100

sp = 110 * 100 / 100

sp = 110

if sold it for 75 more he would have had a 16 % profit

cp = 100

profit = 16 %

sp =( 100 + gain % ) * cp / 100

sp = 116 * 100 / 100

sp = 116

difference in sp's = 116 - 110 = 6

                    cp                               difference

                     100                                   6

                        x                                    75

= 6x = 75 * 100

x= 75 * 100 / 6

cp = rs 1250
