The reaction involved is,

H

2

+Cl

2

→2HCl

means 1 mole or 1 litre of H

2

needs 1 mole or 1 litre of Cl

2

to react completely and will form 2lit of HCl.

Since we have H

2

= 6 litre and Cl

2

= 5.6 litre, so their is Cl

2

present in insufficient amount.

Hence, limiting reagent is Cl

2

.

So, the reaction will involved reaction between 5.6 litre of Cl

2

with 5.6 litre of H

2

and 0.4 litre of H

2

will remain unreacted.

Hence, 5.6 litre of Cl

2

will produce,

5.6×2 = 11.2 litre of HCl.
