Example 3 : A circular track has a circumference of 3140 m with AB as one of the
diameters. A scooterist moves from A to B along the circular path. Find his distance
and displacement. What will be displacement if he covers three quarters of the
circle ?

Circumference=3140m

Speed=10m/s

a) Distance of scooter = circumference / 2

=3140/2

=1570m

b) Displacement of scooter = AB

=circumference/π

=3140/3.14

=1000m

c) Time taken = distance / speed

=1570/10

=157s
