Example 4. Charles applies an effort of 40 N on a simple machine through a distance of 1.5 m is able to push a load of 100 N through a distance of 30 cm. Find the input, output and efficiency of a machine. through which effort is applied - 1​

Input = effort × Distance

Output = Weight of load × distance

            = 100 × 0.3 = 30 N-m.

Efficiency = (output /input ) × 100

                 = (30 / 60 ) × 100 =50 %
