The equation of a line parallel to y axis is x=a where a is x intercept.

As a line passes through the point (−5,7) the value of a for this equation is −5.Thus, the equation of the line is x=−5

∴x+5=0 is the equation of the line parallel to y− axis and passing through (−5,7)
