Newton's first law states that : The object will remain in the state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to an external force. It means that an object will remain at rest or motion until and unless an external force acts on it. If a ball is rolling it will never stop. But this effect in not shown on earth as it exerts frictional force on the ball which makes it stop.
