eg. a ball thrown upwards

Before being thrown the ball had p.e

While travelling upwards this got gradually converted into k.e

As it reached its max. height, k.e became 0 and the ball again aquired the same amt of p.e

when the ball fell back to the ground due to gravity, it slowly acquired k.e

as soon as the ball touched the ground, it lost all its k.e as it stopped and now gained p.e
