Acid + base = salt

ex ==>

HCl + NaOH = NaCl + H2O

HBr + KoH = KBr + H2O

Hydrochloric acid + sodium hydroxide = sodium chloride + water + heat.

Whenever a acid reacts with base a salt is formed due to neutralization.

But the nature of salt depends on the strength of the acid and that of the base.

If the acid is stronger than the base then the salt formed is acidic in nature.

If the base is stronger than the acid than the salt is basic in nature.
