Answer:

Explanation:

Hetreogenous catalysis

Metals:

Fe, Ni, Pd, Pt; Ag

For hydrogenation, dehydrogenation,  hydrogenolysis, & oxidation reactions.

Semiconducting oxides and sulphides:

NiO, ZnO,  MnO2, Cr2O3, Bi2O3-MoO3, WS2.

For oxidation,  dehydrogenation,  desulphurization, & hydrogenation reactions.

Insulator oxides :

Al2O3, SiO2, MgO.

For dehydration reactions.

Acids :

H3PO4, H2SO4, SiO2-Al2O3, Zeolites

For polymerization,  isomeration, cracking & alkylation reactions.

Homogenous Catalysis;

The reaction between ethanol and ethanoic acid is very slow even when heat is applied.

C2H5OH + CH3COOH CH3COOC2H5 + H2O

The addition of a few mL of sulfuric acid greatly increases the rate of reaction.

Since ethanol, ethanoic acid and sulfuric acid are all liquids, sulfuric acid, as used in this example, is a homogeneuos catalyst.
