Series circuits are used in areas where the operation of the circuit is required to be linear. Water heaters use a series circuit. Freezers and refrigerators both use series circuits. Lamps also operate on a series circuit.

Answer:

The jockey is used to slide on the bridge wire. It is a metal rod with one end as knife.E.g.In meter bridge

Explanation:

As far my knowledge about the jockey in electrical circuit, it is found in meter bridge. It's a metal block which can move along a bar and has a knife edge like part which when pressed, touches the 1m wire at a point. A mark on the jockey points the scale, that shows the position of the knife edge on the wire.

In case of a potentiometer, the jockey has 10 knife edge contacts.

I HOPE IT'S HELPFUL.
