EXPLANATION:
- Generally, Single-celled organisms undergo reproduction through a process called binary fission in which karyokinesis is followed by cytokinesis which means that nuclear division is followed by cytoplasmic division.
- But, some organisms exist in a multi nucleated form in which several nuclei are found in one cell surrounded by a common cytoplasm.
- When division occurs in this type of cells the daughter cells formed are also multi nucleated and are surrounded by a cover called cyst.
- When cyst breaks the daughter cells with numerous nuclei are released, this is called as plasmotomy. And is found in plasmodium, Opalina, pelomyxa, etc.
