"Example of renewable resources and non-renewable resources in detail:

The type of resource which can be renewed or obtained again and again naturally over time is called as renewable resources.

The examples of such type of resources are as follow:

  1.     Solar energy: The energy derived from the sun is called solar energy. It is called renewable because it can be obtained continuously till the sun exists in the world.

  2.     Biogas: It is a gas which is obtained from the degradation of living species. Degradation is one of the most important processes of the ecosystem and is vital for the survival of many other useful microorganisms.

  3.    Wood: As long as a tree is available, wood is available without any hindrance. It is used in the process of construction, transportation, etc.

  4.     Water: Water is the most important renewable source as it is required by the living organisms for its survival. Water is always used, reused, and recycled.

  5.    Soil and air: Soil is required for crop production. Air is needed for survival.

The type of resources which are available in less quantity and once it is completely utilized it takes millions of years for its formation. Such type of resource is called as Non-renewable resources.

The examples of such type of resources are as follow:

  1.        Coal: This is formed when plant and trees undergo decomposition. The decomposition of trees and plants takes many years.

  2.        Petroleum: It is found deep under the earth surface which takes more and more years for its formation. Once, it is completely utilized it will be not available for use as it takes more time for its formation.

  3.        Natural gas

  4.        Nuclear energy

  5.        Fossil fuels"
