Anhydrous salts are salts associated water molecules have been removed. Ex: CuSO4.5H2O is hydrated Copper(II) Sulphate(VI) and is blue in colour. However after heating it becomes CuSO4- Anhydrous Copper(II) Sulphate(VI) which is white.
