An example of linear motion is an athlete running 100m along a straight track. Linear motion is the most basic of all motion. According to Newton's first law ofmotion, objects that do not experience any net force will continue to move in a straight line with a constant velocity until they are subjected to a net force.

Manthan11: example of periodic motion
AdiPCS: . Eg: A car moving on a straight road without any change in its velocity is one of theexamples. A Ball rolling on a floor without changing its velocity is again anexample of uniform Motion.
AdiPCS: do you want example of periodic motion
FerociouS29: like earth's revolution it us circular as well as periodic
AdiPCS: but this one was of uniform linear motion
AdiPCS: Periodic motion is performed, for example, by a rocking chair, a bouncing ball, a vibrating tuning fork, a swing inmotion, the Earth in its orbit around the Sun, and a water wave.
